About Me
I'm so excited to connect with you. My name is Laila Modzelewski, and I'll be sharing helpful resources to make your teaching life easier.
I've been a special education teacher since 2012.
I was born and raised in NYC, but my family moved to the suburbs in 2020. Now, I live in a small town in New Jersey with my husband, our three amazing kids and my parents. My brother and his family live across the street, so we have a very active and busy household!
Teaching is my passion, and I'm dedicated to helping fellow teachers thrive. I currently teach a self-contained LLD class, grades 3-5.
Throughout the years I have modified every single piece of curriculum I get my hands on. That's when I decided to start Modz by Laila.
My goal is to share resources that will save you time, and that you and your students will love.
All of my resources are designed to be practical and easy to implement so you can spend less time planning and more time doing what you love – teaching!
Teaching Style
I believe in the power of strong relationships with my students. Once I have a good relationship with my students, they feel safe learning from me. You will see that many of my products are high-interest reading passages. My students have given me ideas of topics they are interested in, and I tailored some of my products around their interests. These reading passages have held their attention and have led to some exciting lessons. I hope your students enjoy them as much as mine have!

I was born and raised in NYC, I currently live in New Jersey with my husband and 3 children. I have a passion for creating materials that help my students learn.
